Campaign Nodes

Random Cohort

Route contacts randomly into weighted workflow paths.

The Random Cohort node splits contacts into random paths based on configured percentages.

When to use it

Use this node when the campaign should test or distribute different experiences.

Common examples:

  • A/B test two or more follow-up paths
  • send a small holdout group to Exit Campaign
  • distribute contacts across different offers
  • compare timing or content strategies

Settings

  • Node name: optional display name shown on the workflow canvas.
  • Branches: the output paths available from the node.
  • Percentages: the weight assigned to each branch.

Simulation and execution behavior

Simulations select a cohort according to the configured branch logic. Real executions assign each contact to one output path when the node runs.

Best practices

  • Make percentages add up cleanly.
  • Keep cohort labels understandable when reviewing executions.
  • Use enough contacts before treating cohort results as meaningful.
