Composing Newsletters and A/B Tests
Configure newsletter details, build content, and manage A/B test variants before sending.
Newsletter composition in Leadpush combines two setup stages:
- the General step, where you confirm the newsletter identity
- the Template step, where you choose or edit content and optionally convert the send into an A/B test
Start with General
The General step lets you update:
- newsletter name
- description
- tags
Use this step to make the newsletter understandable to teammates before you move into content and delivery setup.
Configure the message content
The Template step is where you prepare the email itself.
From this screen you can:
- choose or replace content
- open the template editor
- preview the current content inline
- select the verified From address
- set the subject line
If a variant has no content yet, Leadpush shows an Add Content action instead of the preview.
Sender and subject settings
Each active newsletter template includes head settings such as:
- From
- Subject
The From field uses verified sending addresses from your workspace domains. If the right sender is not available yet, set that up first in Workspaces -> Email -> Sending Domains.
Preview while composing
The template step includes an inline preview area so you can review the currently selected template or variant before continuing. Once the newsletter is in a post-send state, you can also use the dedicated Preview tab from the reporting view.
Turn a newsletter into an A/B test
If you want to compare subject lines or content variants, you can convert the newsletter into an A/B test from the template step.
When A/B testing is enabled, Leadpush adds:
- a control variant
- one or more challenger variants
- per-variant naming
- per-variant weight percentages
- A/B test settings for how the winner is chosen
A/B test settings
Leadpush lets you configure:
- Test Audience %
- Winning Metric, either open rate or click rate
- Wait Value
- Wait Unit, in hours or days
Every active variant must have content, and the total variant weights must equal 100% before the template step is considered valid.
Manage variants
When A/B testing is enabled, the template step becomes a variant workspace. You can:
- switch between variants
- edit variant names
- adjust weight percentages
- add another variant
- remove non-control variants
- preview and edit the selected variant
Use this view to keep the control and challenger versions distinct and ready for review.
Best practices
- Finalize the newsletter name and tags before building content so the record stays easy to find later.
- Use a verified sender address that matches the domain and brand of the message.
- Keep A/B tests focused. Test one meaningful difference rather than changing everything at once.
- Check variant weights before leaving the template step so review is not blocked later.
- Make sure every active variant has content before moving on.
