Blocks
Use the Blocks tab to build document structure, add content, and reuse blueprint-based sections inside Template Studio.
The Blocks tab is where you add new structure and content to the document. It is the starting point for most Template Studio builds because it controls what gets inserted onto the canvas in the first place.
Blocks tab
Inside that tab, Template Studio separates content into broad groups:
Layoutblocks for larger structural wrappers and section organizationContentblocks for text, images, buttons, and similar content elementsBlueprintsfor reusable saved sections
Use layout blocks first when building the document skeleton. Then add content blocks inside that structure.
Types of blocks available
The built-in block library currently includes structural layout presets plus a set of common content blocks for email composition.
Layout blocks
Layout blocks are used for document structure and section organization. These include:
Wrapperfor higher-level section wrapping and shared background or spacing controlGroupfor grouping related blocks together inside a sectionRowfor custom row structure- row presets for common column splits:
1 column2 columns (50 / 50)2 columns (33 / 67)2 columns (67 / 33)3 columns4 columns4 columns (17 / 33 / 17 / 33)4 columns (33 / 17 / 33 / 17)
These presets are the fastest way to build email structure without manually assembling every column from scratch.
Content blocks
Content blocks are used for the visible email content inside that structure. The built-in set includes:
HeroHeadingParagraphButtonImageUnsubscribeAccordionNavbarSocialSeparatorSpacerTable
Some of these blocks also include companion child elements that are used inside the main block type, such as accordion elements, navbar links, social elements, and table rows or cells.
In practice, most emails are assembled from a combination of row presets, text blocks, buttons, images, separators, and a smaller number of specialized blocks like accordions, navbars, or tables.
Selected-block settings
When you select a specific block, Template Studio surfaces the settings for that block directly in the right panel.
This is where you usually make targeted edits such as spacing, alignment, content, or behavior for the selected element. Because the right panel is selection-aware, it is normal for the available controls to change as you click around the canvas or Layers panel.
Best practices
- Build the document skeleton with layout blocks before fine-grained styling.
- Reach for row presets before building custom structures from scratch.
- Use blueprint-based sections for content your team expects to reuse.
- Reach for block-specific settings only after the overall structure and theme direction are in place.
