Imports

Create contact imports, map incoming columns, review import previews, and monitor recent import records.

Overview

Imports help you bring contact data into a workspace in bulk. In Leadpush, the import workflow has two parts:

  • creating the import and configuring its settings
  • reviewing import records later from Settings -> Imports

From the imports workflow, you can:

  • upload an import file
  • indicate whether the file has a header row
  • optionally set subscription status during the import
  • map incoming columns to contact fields
  • review a preview before starting the import
  • monitor or delete import records afterward

Before you start

  • Open the correct workspace before importing contacts, since imports are workspace-specific.
  • Prepare the source file and confirm which columns should map to which contact fields.
  • If you need new custom fields, create them before importing or from the mapping step.
  • You need write access in the workspace to create or delete imports.

Create a new import

Open your workspace

Go to the Dashboard and switch into the workspace you want to manage.

Start the import flow

Open the contact import flow from the dashboard and choose Import Contacts.

Enter the import name

Give the import a recognizable name so your team can identify it later in the Imports list.

Upload the file

Select the file you want to import.

Configure import settings

Set the options that apply to this import:

  • Has Header if the first row contains column names
  • Set Subscription Status if imported contacts should be subscribed or unsubscribed as part of the import

Create the import

Click Create to open the import setup wizard.

Map import columns

Review detected columns

In the Column Mappings step, review each detected column and its preview value.

Choose whether to include the column

Turn Include on only for the columns you want to import.

Map the column

Choose the contact field the column should map to.

Create a field if needed

If the right destination field does not exist yet, use Create Field from the mapping step and then return to the mapping list.

Continue to review

Click Next after the required mappings are configured.

Review the import preview

Open the review step

Move to the Review Import step in the wizard.

Review the preview totals

Check the preview counts for:

  • total contacts
  • total created
  • total updated
  • total errors

Go back if needed

If something looks wrong, use Previous to return to column mapping and adjust the import.

Start the import

Click Import when the preview matches your expectations.

Review import history

Open Settings

Use the main navigation to open Settings.

Go to Imports

Open Imports from the Data section.

Review recent imports

Use the Imports table to review import names, status, and created dates.

Use the Imports table to:

  • search for a specific import by name
  • review whether an import is completed or still in progress
  • sort by creation date to find the newest or oldest import records

Delete an import record

Find the import

Locate the import record you want to remove in the Imports table.

Open row actions

Use the action menu for that import.

Choose Delete

Select Delete and confirm the action.

Verify it is gone

After deletion, the import record should no longer appear in the Imports table.
